Patient Services Specialist

Priority Health Care is looking for a Patient Services Specialist to join our team as the first point of contact for patients at our clinic. This entry-level front desk role is essential to our mission of providing accessible, compassionate healthcare to our community.

The ideal person for this role is organized, detail-oriented, courteous, and comfortable handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You'll create a welcoming atmosphere for patients, manage appointments, process insurance information, and handle payment collections.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors courteously; answer phones and direct calls appropriately
  • Schedule patient appointments using our electronic health record (EHR) system; confirm and reschedule as needed
  • Complete patient registration, including demographic information, insurance verification, and required consent forms
  • Scan and file patient identification and insurance cards into the medical record
  • Collect copayments and balances at the time of service; process payments accurately and reconcile daily cash drawer
  • Screen patients for financial assistance programs and help with applications
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements at all times
  • Assist patients with patient portal access and direct them to appropriate resources

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 6 months to 1 year of customer service or healthcare front desk experience preferred
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR), Microsoft Office, and multi-line phones preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and cash handling
  • Bilingual ability in Spanish or Vietnamese is a plus
  • Current BLS certification preferred
