Priority Health Care is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in providing safe, accurate, and efficient pharmacy services by preparing medications, maintaining inventory, processing prescriptions, and supporting patients with professionalism and compassion. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and adherence to all applicable pharmacy regulations and organizational policies.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare Prescriptions – Assist in preparing and dispensing medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Receive and process prescription orders, package and label medications, perform dosage calculations as permitted by law, and ensure prescription records are accurate and complete. Assist with medication storage, stocking, and inventory management, including the removal and documentation of expired or outdated medications in accordance with established procedures.
- Inventory and Pharmacy Operations – Order, receive, stock, and maintain pharmaceutical inventory and supplies. Monitor inventory levels, assist with controlled substance recordkeeping, and ensure medications are stored securely and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Administrative Support – Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation. Enter prescription information into the pharmacy management system, process refill requests, prepare purchase orders, assist with billing and insurance-related tasks, and support daily pharmacy operations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
- Customer Service – Greet and assist patients in a professional and courteous manner. Answer routine pharmacy and administrative questions, collect patient information, process transactions, and refer clinical questions to the pharmacist as appropriate.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Successful completion of a Pharmacy Technician training program preferred
- Current Louisiana Pharmacy Technician registration or eligibility to obtain registration upon hire
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) preferred
- Minimum one year of pharmacy experience preferred
- Knowledge of pharmacy procedures, medication inventory management, and prescription processing
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with pharmacy software systems
- Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
